Need

Understand the status of all items in the SML, which is a 3 layered aggregate averaging calculation of low level items.

Idea

The idea for the SMiLE interface is to show the data and reveal to the observer how the higher level statuses are being calculated.

Benefit

By revealing the three layers of averaging calculations, the users can see exactly where the final top level statuses came from. It helps the users understand the calculations, and in turn trust the system.
